Hello, I am Laura; mother, teacher, senior leader and founder of BEST. Having taught Business and Economics in secondary schools for over 16 years, it is safe to say I love teaching these subjects.

I have always had a passion for creating engaging, impactful resources that stretch and challenge learners. Recently, I have completed literacy based CPD with a specific focus on disciplinary writing and oracy skill development. I have found that incorporating these strategies into my lessons have supported students with their ability to talk and write like an ‘economist’ or ‘business student’ as well as supporting their examinations skills.

I wanted to create resources that support classroom delivery as well as to be used to support students with their independent learning of the subjects. I also know from my role as Head of Sixth Form, how difficult it can be to engage key stage 5 learners with independent study. Hence why I created BEST.

BEST is designed to support teachers with curriculum delivery as well as support learners with independent learning and revision.

Having been a customer of resources, a mentor to students and a parent, I know what is needed to ensure everyone can reach their full potential and I hope to support them with this journey through BEST.
